TMS Web Core has been a staple subject in many of the previous seminars, particularly in the Coding Bootcamp. It is a framework developed by TMS Software that allows developers to create modern web applications using the Delphi programming language. Generally, it leverages the power of Delphi by offering a range of components and tools designed to simplify the process of building responsive, cross-platform web applications.

What You Need to Know About TMS Miletus App?

In this video, Bruno Fierens will dig deeper to one of the software’s very own Miletus Framework and how it can be used to create applications that run directly on the Raspberry Pi and even access electronic devices connected to it. The Miletus app, part of TMS WEB Core, is a technology designed to create cross-platform desktop applications using Delphi. It allows developers to build standalone executable applications for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Raspberry Pi. These applications can run offline and have direct access to local operating system functionalities, including file systems, shell dialogs, and local databases.

One of the core features of this framework is its Raspberry Pi support. Miletus applications can directly interact with hardware connected to Raspberry Pi via I²C, SPI, GPIO, or UART ports. Bruno Fierens will not just walk us through the process of using the Miletus App but will also demonstrate how it works. In addition to that, Bruno will also add the FNC component in the mix to add a wide range of functionality to these Raspberry Pi applications.

FNC stands for Framework Neutral Components. For this video, using the integration of the Raspberry Pi, the classes and components of both Miletus and FNC, Bruno will attempt to connect a Bosch BMP280 Digital Pressure Sensor in a live demonstration. The session also concludes with a Q&A where Fierens will be accompanied by Embarcadero Developer Advocate Ian Barker to answer some queries.
