Is Delphi and OpenAI Integration, A Blessing or A Curse?

#image_title

ChatGPT has gained widespread popularity since its launch in 2022. Powered by OpenAI, with a simple prompt or command, ChatGPT can provide you with answers. Today, the technology is used across various industries and for different purposes, from customer service and personal assistance to education and entertainment. However, OpenAI is not just about ChatGPT.

In fact, ChatGPT is just one of the powerful tools offered by OpenAI. In this video hosted by Marco Geuze from the Coding Bootcamp 2023, we will dive deep into OpenAI tools and how to integrate them with Delphi. He will also help us determine whether this powerful AI technology is truly a blessing or a curse.

OpenAI is More than Just ChatGPT

To be able to integrate the Open AI tools into Delphi, you must avail the paid version of OpenAI. Aside from the widely known ChatGPT, OpenAI has developed a range of tools and models that cater to different AI-related tasks.

Some tools allow you to translate natural language to code, or translate them to SQL queries, and more. Here, Marco will walk us through the OpenAI Playground, an interactive environment that allows users to experiment with and explore OpenAI’s models. In this video, Marco will utilize this OpenAI tool to generate a code written in Delphi.

After creating the code using OpenAI, Marco will walk us through the process of integrating the code into the Delphi IDE. This can be done using the Tools API by Embarcadero. This API enables developers to create plugins, add new functionality, automate tasks, and integrate other tools into the Delphi IDE.

The video will demonstrate the process from scratch, from the code generation using OpenAI to the use of ToolsAPI to integrate the code to Delphi.

So, is OpenAI a blessing or a curse? OpenAI has so many benefits and it is very clear how this technology is shaping the future, especially in terms of software application development. However, despite all these advancements in AI, it still comes with many notable limitations. Nevertheless, we cannot conclude yet whether this is indeed a blessing or a curse.

The video also concludes with a Q and A portion with Marco Geuze and Embarcadero developer advocate Ian Barker to address some OpenAI and Delphi-related queries.  Check out the video below to learn more.
